fith artefact lesson
This week we where doing photograpy with water. I worked with emily for this. Our plan was to get a shot of a glass bottle full of water smashing just as it hit the ground and started to crack. First we where experimenting with the way colours spread in water and what patterens it made and took quite alot of pictures of that. Then we dropped the bottle but because we hadn't done any test with objects before we dropped the bottle we didnt get the shot we wanted so we cleaned up the glass and did some tests with dropping some water and taking a picture and also with a stone to see if we could get the timing right. This wasn't very sucsessfull but we got a new glass and filled it with water and did some of the patterens with the food colouring in the water again and dropped the jar but again we didnt get the shot we wanted so we changed to impervising some ideas. I had the idea of tipping down a part in the wall that looked like some steps. We tryed this idea with normal water and coloured water aswell. They both worked really well and looked effective. Then we tryed it with other objects and because I was using the camera I was mainly saying what ideas to do when we couldnt think of anything to do. We went from throwing water at bins to walls to taking pictures of reflections and the way water ran down different objects and the way the water droplets hung. This was inrteresting to do because we found out what ideas worked and what ones we needed to do some tests with before we could do our final ideas.
